Dr. K. G. Raveendran hails from a traditional Vaidya family in Ottapalam, Kerala. He completed a Gurukula model 7 1/2 years Ayurveda graduation program from Coimbatore Ayurveda College in 1989 and joined The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Limited immediately. He served in various leading branches of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy and moved to its flagship clinical unit, Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam & Research Institute, in 1998. Under his leadership, the clinical unit of AVP grew to a 300 bed capacity spread in three campuses and also became an Internationally acclaimed centre for Research and Academics. Dr. Raveendran played a key role in various research projects on Rheumatoid arthritis, Diabetes, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and COVID-19. He has authored books and articles to promote Ayurveda and was featured in various Television programs. After taking an early retirement from his post of Medical Director and Board of Directors, The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Limited, Dr. Raveendran is now settled in Ottapalam, Kerala. He heads Gopala Poduval Lakshmi Trust (GPL Trust), a not-for-profit entity created in his parents' memory and with an aim to promote authentic and comprehensive Ayurveda through the actualisation of its medical potential and through science popularisation programs. He runs the clinic in a rural setting serving the needy with quality and effective Ayurveda care.
