Dr. Rajmohan V
Dr Rajmohan V has completed his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Ayurveda from Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. He was a medical officer at the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine and Research Officer at the Drug Standardization Unit under the Directorate of Ayurveda medical education, Government of Kerala. His teaching career started at Vaidyaratnam P S Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, and subsequently to Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, and Government Ayurveda College, Kannur. Presently he is the Associate Professor of Rasasastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana at Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram.
Dr Rajmohan V was the technical committee member of the School of Ayurveda and the School of Health Policy and Planning of Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). He was the member of the Travancore-Cochin Medical Council. He is an invited faculty to the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Calicut, Kerala. Dr Rajmohan V is the coordinator of the Task Force constituted by the Kerala Government for utilising Ayurveda in the prevention, mitigation and rehabilitation of COVID-19 in Kerala. He is also the State coordinator of the State Ayurveda COVID-19 Response Cell, Department of AYUSH, Government of Kerala and the nodal officer Kerala for COVID-19 activities to the Department of AYUSH, Government of India. Dr Rajmohan V is currently designated as the special officer of the International Research Institute of Ayurveda developing under the Government of Kerala.
He has effectively contributed to the development of the vision document and perspective plan for KUHS. He was one of the High Impact Project (HIP) coordinators of Ayurveda for the Department of AYUSH, Government of India, and was a member of the Central Council of Indian Medicine syllabus committee. He was one of the chief organisers, and scientific committee convenor of the first International AYUSH Conclave organised by the Kerala Government in 2019. Dr Rajmohan V was the member representing Ayurveda in the High-Power Delegation of Government of Kerala to Japan and the Republic of Korea led by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala. During the diplomatic mission, his deliberations and initiatives have facilitated various academic and research collaborations in Ayurveda between Kerala and Japan.
Dr Rajmohan V was the invited faculty to Ayurveda Day 2020 celebrations at Philipines organised by the Indian Missions. As the State Ayurvedic COVID-19 response cell coordinator, Dr Rajmohan V was instrumental in designing Ayur Raksha Clinics and different ayurvedic programmes against the COVID-19 pandemic in Kerala, which later proved to be a glorious success of Ayurvedic public health activities ever in the state. He has represented Ayurveda in the transdisciplinary conference jointly organised by St.Xavier's College, Mumbai and Creighton University, USA, in 2019 at Mumbai. He has been a resource person to numerous International and National seminars and conferences since 2007 and has many publications to his credit. He is the winner of the SKM Research Scholar (2010) Award for his outstanding contribution to Research Methodologies in Ayurveda. Recently, the Chalakkudy Municipality awarded Padmabhushan Ragavan Thirumulpad Puraskaram to Dr Rajmohan V for his outstanding contribution as a teacher of Ayurveda. He is a teacher, clinician, and researcher focusing on Rasayana, ageing, cancer, and Ayurvedic Drug validation.
