Narayanan Nambi is presently the Principal and Chief Physician of Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam and Vidyapeedham (Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital). He is also Honorary Director of academic and clinical services of SNA Oushadhasala, founded by Ashtavaidyan Thrissur Thaikkat Mooss in 1920 in Kerala. He received BAMS (Ayurveda Acharya) degree from Mysore University, Karnataka. M.D.(Ayu.)(Ayurveda Vachaspati) degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangaluru, Karnataka. He has been contributing the field of Ayurveda education, Rescarch, Pharmaceutics, and health care policy matters in India and abroad since 20 years. His publications include both popular series as well as scientific articles/research papers in indexed joumals and contributed chapters in books and edited a book published by Springer. He is poplar in international teaching schools as faculty member - Ayurvedic Point, Italy, Veda Education in Russia and Equal International, Australia. He is also actively involved in Ayurveda education through- European Institute of Vedic Studies, Switzerland, and European Academy of Ayurveda, Germany and made educational visits and orations in Italy. Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, UAE. United Kingdom etc He also made valuable contributions as Coordinator in Scientific Program of INDRA- Europe (International Network for Development and Research in Ayurveda), Former Member of Sub Committee for Education & International Cooperation for AYUSH for 12th Five Year Plan in National Planning Commission, Government of India; Former member Secretary-Clinical Services: Council for International Cooperation of Indian System of Medicine under Department of AYUSH, Under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India: Former Member of Subcommittee in Sam Pitroda Global Ayurveda Initiative Under Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Govt. of Kerala. He represents the rich ancestry Alathiyoor Nambi family of Ashtavaidyas- the great traditional vaidya families in India having centuries of old tradition. By recognising his contribution and valuable services in Ayurveda education, he was honoured with "ASHWINI AWARD" at SDM institute. He does regular presentations in various youtube channels ( Ashtamgam ayurveda, Satva TV, Namasthe TV etc and his regular presentations in Amrutha TV "JEEVADHARA" program for more than a decade made him a very popular figure in the state as a public speaker and as a star orator with a firm foothold in tradition.
